John W. ‘Bugsy’ Baber

Nov. 30, 1945 - Dec. 3, 2012

John W. “Bugsy” Baber, 67, of Kirklin, died at 7:20 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon.

He was born Nov. 30, 1945, in Kirklin, the son of Ross and Beulah (Burgess) Baber.

On Oct. 13, 1964, he married the former Janet Lois Barnes; she survives.

John graduated from Clinton Central High School in 1963. He worked as a janitor at Chrysler in Kokomo for 43 years before his retirement. John was a member of the UAW and Bible Holiness Church and former member of the Eagles. In addition to Frankfort basketball, he was also a fan of the Colts and Indiana University athletics. John was a good provider for his wife and family and a true giver to all who were in need.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, John F. (Erica) Baber of Michigantown, and Scott R. (Tracy) Baber of Kirklin; three daughters, Candee (Ron) Anderson of Kokomo, Sherri (Jason) Albaugh of Frankfort, and Pam (John) Kirby of Frankfort; one sister, Jane Jones of Kokomo; 16 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Friday at Bible Holiness Church in Frankfort from 11 a.m. until the funeral service at the church at 1 p.m. Pastor Mark Mowery is officiating. Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort.

Memorials in John’s name may be made to Clinton County Cancer.
