Marie H. Abell 87, Richmond, Va., passed away at 3:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Community Howard Regional Health Systems. Marie was born Dec. 11, 1924, in Richmond, Va., to the late George and Ethel Hendricks. In her early years, Marie worked as a secretary at the U.S. Pentagon, then was a homemaker enjoying cooking, sewing, playing cards, and most of all enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchild. Marie was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church in Kokomo.
Survivors include a son, Michael G. Abell; wife, Stefania; two grandchildren, Paige Abell and Lindsey Abell; and two great-grandchildren, Ashlin Paige Morgan and Brady Owen Sharp.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ethel Hendricks; a brother, George Hendricks; and two sisters, Inez Peckrin and Olive Barnes.
A memorial visitation will be held by the family.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to her church, Main Street United Methodist Church, 830 S. Main St., in her memory. Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster Street assisted the family with arrangements.
