Harold Ray Snyder, 84, Converse, passed away at 5:34 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo. He was born at home in rural Converse on April 12, 1928, the son of Glen and Beulah Overman Snyder. Harold married Martha Butt at Denver United Methodist Church on Sept. 30, 1951, and she survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Martha, are a daughter, Anita Kay Rigel (John); a son-in-law, Marvin Higdon; a brother, Dr. Morris Snyder (Betty); a sister, Lois Campbell; grandchildren, Joshua Higdon, Dr. Kristina Yoder (Ryan), Nicholas Higdon (Janna), Michelle McCune (Adam), Amy Rodas (Daniel) and Brad Rigel; and four great-grandchildren.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Denise Higdon, and a brother, Orval Snyder.
A service celebrating the life of Harold Ray Snyder will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, 201 N. Main, Amboy, with Pastor Kenny Cole and Pastor Adam McCune officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Laird-Eddy Funeral Home.
