Bernice L. Ware

March 6, 1924 - Dec. 27, 2012

Mrs. Bernice L. Ware, 88, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012. Bernice was born March 3, 1924, in Chattanooga, Tenn., the daughter of Herman Dewey Brown and Lila Mae (Jordan) Brown. She was united in holy matrimony to Lamar Ware Sr. in Chattanooga.

She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, and a Daughter of Elks at the temple in Chattanooga. Bernice was employed by Kokomo One Hour Cleaners as a presser for many years, and later went to work at Accurate Parts for a number of years.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Ware-Stitts and Gwendolyn M. Ware-Pierce; one son, Albert Ware; 11 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Lamar Ware Jr.; four brothers, Albert, Curtis, Herman and Herbert Brown; and two grandchildren, Eric and Kenneth Ware.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, with Pastor Lonnie Anderson officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery.
