Arletta Agnes Williams

Jan. 1, 1924 - Dec. 28, 2012

Arletta Agnes Williams, 88, Kokomo, died at 8:45 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospital. She was born Jan. 1, 1924, in Wyoming, to William Harry and Selma Elizabeth (Ring) Harris. On Jan. 10, 1942, she married Robert Herron Williams, and he passed away on Oct. 7, 2006.

Arletta was a member of the Fairfield Christian Church. She was a volunteer in the Genealogy Department at the Kokomo Library. She quilted, loved to cook, garden and canning some of her garden food. She loved her kids and grandchildren dearly.

Survivors are daughters, Roberta Ann Corwin, Davenport, Fla., Carol Diane (Tim) Damon, Prairieville, La., Arleen Mae Cochran, Kirklin, Connie Sue Parks (companion Phil Parker), Forest; son, Russell Bruce (Cindy) Williams, Kokomo; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Selma; husband, Robert Williams; two brothers, Herschel Harris and Verl Harris; two sons in-law, Max Cochran and Phil Cowin.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastor Keith Cramer and Pastor Lynn Colman officiating the service. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home. Entombment will be after the funeral service at Sunset Memory Gardens.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Online condolences may be left at www.stoutandson.com.

    Denver R. Walker, 61, Kokomo, formerly of Ridge Farm, Ill., passed away at 6:38 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Century Villa Health Care. He was born Nov. 1, 1951, in Danville, Ill., the son of Denver Ralph and Sarah (Walthall) Walker. On June 7, 1997, he married Cynthia L. “Cindy” Hultz from Veedersburg, and she survives him.

Fred was born Feb. 22, 1934, in Kokomo, to the late Emmett and Dorothy (Clark) Bagwell. He graduated from Kokomo High School.

    Christine “Granny” “Mother Goose” Cornelia Ligon, 96, Kokomo, passed away at 3:10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013, at St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo. She was born Oct. 25, 1916, in Baron Plain, Tenn., the daughter of the late Tommy and Laura (Turner) King. On July 21, 1934, Christine married Timothy Calvin Ligon Jr. and they were happily married until his passing on Nov. 3, 1956.
