He was born Sept. 5, 1922, the son of Ova Rolland Carson and Glad Fern Hollenback Carson in Twelve Mile. On Jan. 23, 1943, he married Wanita Mae Hite, who preceded him in death. He then married Dorothy Hunter on Sept. 4, 1994. She survives.

He grew up in Logansport before moving to Burlington and graduating from New London High School in 1940. Buck served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Hancock. He lived his adult life in Kokomo and retired as an electrician from Continental Steel. He enjoyed camping and square dancing. He was a member of Napthali Masonic Lodge, where he was a past master. He was also a member of the Center Order of Eastern Star and Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis. He was also a Shriner. Following his retirement from Continental Steel, he lived and worked in Orlando, Fla., and Wichita Falls, Texas, before returning to Kokomo.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Shirley and Stout Funeral Home and Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road. Burial will follow in Converse Cemetery, where military rites will be performed. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be 7:30 p.m.
