Michael ‘Mike’ Kent Lowdermilk

Feb. 28, 1957 - Jan. 13, 2013

Michael “Mike” Kent Lowdermilk, 55, Kokomo, passed away at 9:35 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at his residence. He was born Feb. 28, 1957, to Velma (Siler) and Chelsia Lowdermilk. On Sept. 21, 2001, in Burlington, he married Glenda Willis, who survives.  

Mike learned his trade early on from his father. He then went to work at Continental Steel from 1978 until 1986, IBEW Local 873 from 1991 until 1993, but retired Dec. 31, 2012, from Chrysler after 20 years of service as an electrician. He was a member of the UAW Local 685.   

Surviving are his wife, Glenda Lowdermilk, Kokomo; two daughters, Jamie Allen and companion, Joe Shidler, Royal Center, Morgan (Arron) Stump, Kokomo; stepdaughter, Nicole (Bart) Irwin, Kokomo; 10 grandchildren, Michaela, Jacob and Conner Allen, Bailee, Brady, Berklee, Brylee and Bentley Stump, Payton and Kylie Mae Irwin; sister, Ruth (Brent) Foster, Sharpsville; brother, Tom Lowdermilk, Indianapolis. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and many close friends.        

He was preceded in death by his mother.        

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., with Pastor Kim Drake officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary and from 10 a.m. until time of service on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michael Lowdermilk memorial fund, to be used for later good in his name.
