Ronald G. Schneider, 73, Rushville, passed away Jan. 26, 2013. Ron was born Jan. 22, 1940, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Anthony Schneider. His mother, Helen Schneider, survives. He married Mary Hoeing Oct. 5, 1963, and she survives.
He attended Raleigh High School and graduated from Mays High School.
He worked at Perfect Circle-Dana as a supervisor and then was the custodian and maintenance director at St. Mary Catholic School and Church for many years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He also was active in the Knights of Columbus and served as scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 27 in years past.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Helen Schneider, Brookville, Ohio; wife, Mary Schneider, Rushville; son, Michael (Susan) Schneider, Cincinnati, Ohio; daughters, Kate (Bud) DeCleene, Kokomo, and Karen (Paul) Geisting, Hurst, Ill.; brother, Dan (Nancy) Schneider, Farmersville, Ohio; grandchildren, Erin, Chris, Seth and Maria DeCleene.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 512 N. Perkins St., Rushville. Burial will follow at Rushville’s Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory, 1600 S. Ind. 3, Rushville, with the rosary recited at 4 p.m.
