Joy Amaryllis (Wilson) Hicks, 72, Russiaville, passed away at 1:19 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at St. Joseph Hospital. She was born July 26, 1940, in Greentown, to the late Loren D. and Edna Mae (Webb) Wilson. On Aug. 1, 1958, she was married to Robert Leroy Hicks, who survives.
Joy was a 1958 graduate of Eastern High School.
Joy enjoyed genealogy, Civil War history, making trips to Turkey Run, and she loved all animals. She was also an accomplished cake decorator.
She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Hicks; sons, Paul Michael (Annette) Hicks, Republic, Mo., Dean W. (Gayle) Hicks, Brownsburg, Andy C. (Mia) Hicks, Kokomo, and David Eric (Stephanie) Hicks, Noblesville; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, S.N. (Nancy) Wilson, Mesquite, Texas; and a sister, Jessie (Kenneth) Hicks, South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Friday at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with Steve Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
