— Gus William Bennis, 84, Kokomo, passed away at 3:40 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at North Woods Village Health Care. He was born June 1, 1928, to Gus and Hazel Bell (Rull) Bennis.
He was a 1946 Anderson High School graduate, and retired from Delco in 1993 after 46 years of service. He was a member of the UAW. Gus also served in the National Guard. He was a member of the Anderson Masonic Fellowship Lodge F&AM 681 for 63 years. Gus was an avid squirrel hunter and a skilled target shooter. He also loved drawing and photography.
Survivors include nephew, Alan (Sharyne) Anderson, Kokomo; and two great-nieces, Krista and Amber Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bette Anderson; and brother, Joe Lewis.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with Pastor Steve Bishop officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson following the funeral services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stout & Son Funeral Home.
