Mary Frances Maddox

Feb. 6, 1927 - Feb. 10, 2013

— Mary Frances Maddox, 86, Cicero, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at Riverview Hospital, Noblesville. She was born Feb. 6, 1927, in Tipton, to William Jefferson and Bertha (Townsend) Rayl.

She was a graduate of Prairie Township High School with the Class of 1945. Mary Frances was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, playing euchre and hand-and-foot card games and had researched the genealogy of her family for more than 60 years.  

She was the widow of Garland Maddox, whom she married Sept. 26, 1946. He preceded her in death Dec. 28, 1996. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters and eight brothers.

 Surviving her are two sons, Shawn Maddox, Pine Island, Fla., and Clee Maddox, Tipton; a daughter, Tish Milea Sperry, Westfield; and the following grandchildren, Zach, Logan, Milea, Sabrin and Shaunna Maddox, Parker Shaw, and Rhiley and Nora Sperry.

Graveside rites will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, near Groomsville.
