Florence Buffum Samuelson Rodman, 91, Kokomo, passed away at 1:55 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, at Golden Living Center Sycamore Village, Kokomo. She was born July 11, 1919, in Hoopston, Ill., to William Buffum and Pearl M. (Jernagen) Buffum. On June 9, 1956, in Kokomo, she married Walter Lewis Rodman Sr. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1990.
She had retired from Delco Electronics after 31 years of service. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, doing yard work, being with her pets and spending time with family and friends. Florence was loving and giving to all of those around her, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Walter L. Jr. and wife Micki L. Rodman, Kokomo; daughter Shareen and husband Richard J. McClish, Kokomo; daughter,Rita J. and husband Scott P. Ellington, Kokomo; daughter Patricia E. Drayton Kitts and husband John P. Kitts, Kokomo; grandchildren Zachary and wife Nicky Rodman, Melissa Crull, Heather Winner, Rockey and wife Barbara McClish, Ryan and wife Mona McClish, Mindy Rodemoyer, Randy and wife Ruby Hudson, Lisa and husband Bobby Burthay, Kimberly and husband Dean Farouki, Christopher and wife Kristy Graham, Michael Jackson, and David and wife Ruthie Jackson; 20 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ann Jackson; and eight brothers and sisters.
Services are noon Saturday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., with Pastor William Carmichael officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
