Vera Movaline Chouinard, 74, Greentown, died at 6:06 p.m. Monday, Sept. 6, 2010 at Howard Regional Health System, Kokomo. Born March 16, 1936, in Searcy, Ark., she was the daughter of the late James Edward Prince and Rhoda (Lawson). On Oct. 1, 1960, in Kokomo, she married Richard Walter Chouinard, and he survives.
She was a homemaker who loved gardening, collecting angels and elephants, and played multiple musical instruments. She was also a member of Independent Christian Fellowship Church of Peru.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Walter Chouinard, Greentown; three sons, Roscoe “Butch” (Linda) Sparling, Ray (Penny) Sparling, and Rob (Betty) Chouinard, all of Kokomo; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Sparling, Kokomo; four sisters, Pauline Ferren, Kokomo, Deltha Mae Taylor, Greentown, Onnie Belle Nimmo, Kokomo, and Tina Rae Butler, Greentown. There are also 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Clifford Sparling; two brothers, Gordon Prince and Darrell Prince; and two sisters, Madge McIntire and Geraldine Roberts.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St. Dr. Harry Logan Sparling will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown.
