Run for Senate was rewarding experience
Hoosiers made their voices heard on Tuesday, Nov. 6. The American voting process and our peaceful exchange of power is one of the rarest and therefore most valuable the world has ever seen.
First and foremost, I thank God for the strength and perseverance over these last 20 months. Second, I must thank my wife, Marilyn, for her support, friendship and patience during this campaign.
And from the bottom of my heart, I thank you, my friends and supporters, for your hard work to make a positive impact on our blessed country. I remain incredibly appreciative of our volunteers, supporters and every person who entrusted me with their vote.
While the result was not what we had hoped for, we can all stand tall knowing that we fought hard for America’s future and for what was right.
My travels around our great state and the people I’ve been able to meet have been incredibly rewarding experiences that I will treasure always. I extend my sincerest thanks to all those who walked this journey with me.

More concerned with the suffering of mice?
I find it ironic and tragic that two days after we elected a president who sees nothing wrong with killing a baby born alive after an abortion (usually by jamming a pair of scissors in its skull), the Tribune runs a piece about the humane removal of mice from your home.
This is a sign of the downward spiral of our society, when we are more concerned about the suffering of mice than we are about the 1 million children murdered in our country each year.
And by the way, only 3 percent of those murders are the result of rape or incest. The rest were just an inconvenience, dismembered and thrown out with the trash.

Gripe about Obama, give him a 2nd term
We are a truly odd species.
For the last three to four years, we have been griping and moaning about the lousy state of the economy and the lack of employment opportunities.
We complain about outsourced jobs, job opportunities and, most notably, the poor performance record of our current president, Barack Obama.
So now it is Nov. 6 and what do we do? Why, we re-elect this sorry excuse for a president to a second term so that he may better be able to continue the insanity. Go figure.
