Two teens arrested after robbery

The Kokomo Police Department arrested two 17-year-olds on suspicion of pistol whipping and robbing two men this weekend.

The boys, whose names are being withheld because they are minors, face preliminary charges of robbery and aggravated battery. Both charges are Class B felonies, which carry standard prison terms of 10 years if they are convicted as adults. Police also preliminarily charged one of them with a misdemeanor count of trespassing.

According to police reports, Ronda Minor, 19, was visiting with two friends, Derek Parvin and Caleb Miller, in her apartment in the 600 block of Elk Drive about 3 a.m. Saturday when the two teens “barged in,” the report stated.

One boy allegedly began cursing at her two guests and asking what they were doing there. He began beating the two with a gun, hitting them so hard the rounds fell out of his gun, the report said.

The boy then allegedly made threats before telling Miller to hand over his necklace and cell phone, and Parvin to give him his knife.

Police arrived at the apartment later in the day and found Minor’s mother and brother cleaning blood from the floor, walls and couch.

Officers arrested the two 17-year-olds at one of their homes about 8 p.m. Saturday.
