Thursday, 11:30 p.m., deputies arrested Carl W. Chandler, 32, 600 block of East Mulberry Street, at the Howard County jail, on four warrants, alleging charges of non-compliance with in-home detention, failure to appear (two counts) and theft.

Friday, 1:25 a.m., state police arrested Jose L. Hernandez, 25, Logansport, at Markland Avenue and Delphos Street, on charges of operator never licensed and operating while intoxicated.

Friday, 10:55 a.m., deputies arrested Serena Caldwell, 35, 1500 block of North Morrison Street, at the Howard County jail, on a warrant for a felony theft charge.

Thefts

Thursday, 8:30 a.m., the theft of an iPad was reported in the 2400 block of South Berkley Road.

Sunday, 3 a.m., the theft of two Fender guitars was reported from the 1800 block of South Plate Street.

Sunday, 3:39 p.m., the theft of a GPS device from a vehicle in the 1100 block of South Webster Street was reported.

Miami County

Miami Co. arrests burglary suspect

A Kokomo man was arrested Saturday after police say he burglarized a house in Miami County.

According to reports, the Miami County Sheriff Department was called to the 11000 block of South 500 West on a report of a burglary in progress.

The homeowner told police he saw a white Jeep in his driveway when he arrived home around 10:30 p.m. The owner took down the license plate number of the vehicle, which sped away from the residence, heading toward Kokomo on 500 West.

Kokomo police then located the vehicle on North Webster Street. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Robert Russell, 47, 1600 block of North Webster Street, on charges of burglary and residential entry.
