— Police investigating business break-in
The Kokomo Police Department is investigating a break-in at Smokey Bones Tobacco.
Around 11 a.m. Sunday, officers were called to Smokey Bones, 715 N. Washington St., in reference to a door being open at the business. Employees of the business noted the doors had been locked at 8 p.m. Saturday.
Upon arrival, officers entered through the unlocked front door and discovered several items in disarray inside.
A detective from the Criminal Investigation Section discovered that entry into the locked business was gained through an attic vent located behind the building.
Among the items taken from the business were several cartons of cigarettes, smoking devices, aluminum grinders, and electronic scales.
Detectives are currently reviewing the businesses surveillance footage and other items of evidence collected at the scene.
Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Kokomo Police Department Hotline at 765-456-7017, or you may qualify for a cash reward by calling Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
