IU Northwest to celebrate Darwin's birthday

Gary — Anthropologists at Indiana University Northwest in Gary will wish Charles Darwin a happy 204th birthday next month with a series of discussions on evolution.

The school's Anthropology Club will also mark the 154th anniversary of the publication of his seminal work, "On the Origin of Species," during its 15th Annual Darwin Day program Feb. 13 in the Library Conference Center.

Scheduled highlights will include talks on the ethics of evolutionism and discussions on the development of ethnicity and language, as well as the cutting of Darwin's birthday cake.

The event is free and open to the public.

Darwin Day is an international celebration. More information is available at https://www.darwinday.org.
