Most lanes of Bloomington Bypass reopen

Bloomington —

There's good news for people traveling to Indiana University and other destinations in the Bloomington area: Most lanes along the Indiana 45/46 Bypass on the city's east side have reopened to traffic.

Indiana Department of Transportation spokesman Greg Prince tells The Herald-Times that most of the travel lanes were open by Wednesday and permanent traffic patterns are in place following several months of construction that created tie-ups during IU's home football games and other events.

Some minor restrictions remain, and construction and utility work continue in one area.
