SW Ind. woman sues police over June raid

Evansville — An Evansville woman is suing the city and its police department for a June raid in which officers threw flash grenades into her home while serving a warrant.

Louise Milan's suit alleges police violated her constitutional right against unreasonable search and seizure, that officers were negligent and that she's suffered emotional distress.

Her suit says police damaged her home, handcuffed her and her 18-year-old granddaughter and seized their computers while investigating Internet posts allegedly made from the house threatening Evansville's police department.

The Evansville Courier & Press reports a suspected local gang leader who lived nearby admitted in federal court this month that he made the threatening posts. That man used his smartphone to connect to a wireless Internet router in Milan's house and post the threats.
