Rose-Hulman president Matt Branam dies

Terre Haute —  

Matt Branam, president of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, collapsed this morning on campus and has died.
 
Branam took over as president of the highly respected, private engineering school on July 1, 2009.
 
A Terre Haute native, Branam earned a civil engineering degree from Rose-Hulman in 1979.
 
Bill Fenoglio, chairman of the Board of Trustees, has issued this statement to the Rose-Hulman community:
 
“Early this morning, President Matt Branam had a medical emergency in his office. He was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
 
“It is my sad duty to inform you that shortly after his arrival at the hospital, Matt passed away. No other details are currently available."
