Whiteland — Morning commuters faced long delays on Interstate 65 south of Indianapolis after a crash in which authorities say one person was killed.
The crash happened about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday about a mile north of the I-65 interchange near the Johnson County town of Whiteland, causing police to close the northbound lanes and divert traffic off the highway for about three hours.
Johnson County Sheriff Doug Cox tells WTHR-TV that the crash involved one vehicle that left the highway and rolled several times. Cox says a semitrailer driver following the vehicle saw it swerving before the crash happened.
The identity of the person killed wasn't immediately released.
