Ind. officials prepare to release 2011 court stats

Indianapolis — A new report to be released next week will detail caseloads and costs for more than 400 local courts across Indiana.

Indiana Chief Justice Brent Dickson and Division of State Court Administration Executive Director Lilia Judson will release the annual statistical report for 2011 on Monday at the Statehouse.

The 1,700-page report includes a variety of statistics about state and county court operations. They include the number of new civil and criminal cases filed last year, how many cases were decided by juries, the cost of court operations, and even the languages spoken by court interpreters.

The annual reports are required by state law and are produced by the Supreme Court's Division of State Court Administration.

The report also will be made available online.
