Speed, weather cited in Clinton County school bus crash

Colfax — A police report blames speed and weather for a school bus going off a rural road and overturning in a central Indiana farm field last week with more than two dozen students on board.

The Clinton County Sheriff Department report lists distracted driving as a secondary cause for the crash of the Clinton Prairie district bus, but doesn't say what might have distracted the bus driver.

All students on the bus and the driver were taken to hospitals after the Friday morning crash near the town of Colfax. The most serious injury was a broken arm.

The Journal & Courier reports the bus driver told police she lost control after feeling the rear of the bus start to slide on the wet road.
