Betsy Starr Baird and Thomas Marshall Wallis were married at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 25, 2011, at a Tipton County Woods, on the bride’s parents’ farm. Performing the vintage style ceremony was Pastor Matt Carder of Muncie, assisted by the Rev. Doug Shoemaker and Dr. William Salsbery, uncles of the bride.
She is the daughter of Allen and Rachel Baird, Tipton. She is employed by Rivar’s, Inc. as the director of sales and marketing.
Tom is the son of Robert and Marsha Wallis of Indianapolis. He is employed by Lawrence North High School as a band and orchestra director.
The maid of honor was Jennifer Baird, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Natalie West, Dana Kincaid, Tara Holcomb, Kelly McClain and Sarah Hake, all friends of the bride. Bride’s assistant was Michelle Baird, sister-in-law of the bride. Flower girls were Samantha and Katie Funk, nieces of the groom.
The best man was Chris Barbee. Groomsmen were Randy Funk, brother-in-law of the groom, and Rick Fenton, Jake Groves, Nick Gold, and Bob Craft, all friends of the groom. Ushers were Andrew Baird, brother of the bride, and Kyle Shoemaker, cousin of the bride. Piano music was provided by Susie Flook. Vocals were performed by Beth and Evan Slusher, and Nathan Salsbery.
The couple resides in Muncie.
