Erin Rodriguez and Thomas Richter

Erin Marie Rodriguez and Thomas Richter were wed at 2 p.m. Oct. 15, 2011, at St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church, Hilton Head Island, S.C., officiated by Deacon Gerry Hand. A reception followed at Port Royal Golf Clubhouse, Hilton Head Island.

She is the daughter of Enedino and Peggy Rodriguez, Kokomo. She graduated from Taylor High School in 2004, from Indiana University in 2008 and from the University of South Carolina in 2011, earning a bachelor’s degree in history, a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in teaching. She is a teacher at the School for the Creative Arts in Hilton Head Island.

He is the son of Zeljka Richter, Hildesheim, Germany, and the late Klaus Jürgen Richter. He graduated from Gymnasium Josephinum in 2003, from Birmingham-Southern College in 2006 and from Indiana University in 2008, earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in sports marketing. He is a head tennis professional at VanDer Meer Tennis University, Hilton Head, S.C.

The maid of honor was Lindsey Maple, childhood friend of the bride. The bridesmaid was Hannah Brown, childhood friend of the bride.

The best man was Christian Schipke, teammate of the groom. Groomsmen were Lachlan Ferguson, college teammate of the groom, and Arne Wolpers, childhood friend of the groom.

The couple plans to travel Europe this summer. They currently reside in Hilton Head Island, S.C.
